Functional Medicine Update – North Texas\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Letter from the Executive Director:<\/p>\n

We are well into 2017 with lots of new and exciting changes in the functional medicine world. \u00a0The growth of the functional medicine movement continues to grow at an exponential rate. \u00a0In fact, The Institute for Functional Medicine receives well over 6000 daily inquiries on the “Find a Practitioner” page. The truth is the demand for fully-trained and practicing functional medicine practitioners is outpacing the number of practicing providers. \u00a0We here at the Functional Medicine Association of North Texas are providing platform for much needed education and training in clinical science around the execution of functional medicine.<\/p>\n

We have also revamped our format and education platform starting this year to address the “elephant in the room.” The practice implementation and business aspects of transitioning and running a thriving functional medicine practice. According to the groundbreaking survey conducted by IFM in the fall of 2015, \u00a0practice implementation was the key area holding many practitioners back from really implementing functional medicine into practice, especially in clinical practice where there may be groups, insurance models or financial constraints that makes the “ideal” cash pay model seem to hard to grasp.<\/p>\n

We have also had some changes to our latest home for events. \u00a0THR University at Presbyterian Dallas sold 1\/2 of the University building to UT Southwestern. \u00a0From this point forward, we will be unable to hold our events at this location. \u00a0My team has worked to find other accommodations for events. \u00a0Events this year will be held at several hotel and event spaces throughout the Dallas area depending on the size, duration and expected attendance of the event. We will do everything in our power to keep the cost of attending events as affordable as we always have and provide quality education and training.<\/p>\n

Our first hosted event is underwritten by Perfect Practice, Vibrant Clinical Labs. \u00a0This event is a Practice Implementation and Business Development all day workshop\u00a0on Saturday, February 25th, designed to help you determine your perfect practice vision for your future: the financial model for your practice if you are not currently happy with your financial model, your business design, the look and feel of your business and brand, your niche and much, much more. \u00a0You will also leave this event with a outline blueprint of the top items to start to address now to start moving your practice in the right direction.
